Orphan Barrel Castle's Curse is a 14-year-old single malt Scotch whisky that was distilled at the Teaninich Distillery in the Highlands of Scotland. The whisky was matured in European oak casks, which has given it a complex flavor profile with notes of tangerine, poached pear, sweet confectionary, dried herbs, vanilla, red apple, mint, oak, and spice.
The whisky is named after the legend of the Kelpie, a supernatural, shape-shifting aquatic spirit or "water-horse" that is said to haunt the waters of the Cromarty Firth, which is near the Teaninich Distillery. The label of the whisky features a depiction of a Kelpie, along with the words "Castle's Curse".
