Jefferson's Bourbon, a small batch bourbon and rye brand, was founded in 1997 by Trey Zoeller and his father, Chet, a bourbon historian from Kentucky. Initially recognized for its exclusive distillations from other distilleries, the brand still incorporates expertly-sourced whiskies from independent companies in up to 75% of their product lines. However, Jefferson's has recently teamed up with Kentucky Artisan Distillery to distill 25% of their whiskey at KAD's facility in Crestwood TN. The brand was acquired by Castle Brands (aka Pernod Ricard) in 2019, and has since expanded to offer a variety of whiskey iterations, including special edition and collector releases. Among these is their highly-acclaimed Jefferson's Ocean selection - a carefully crafted whiskey aged at sea in barrels stored on container ships, enduring storms and drastic changes in temperature for at least six months. Each Ocean release boasts a distinct palate and finish.
