Romulo Sanchez Parada, the creator of Rey Campero Cuishe, learned the art of making mezcal from his father and worked in the palenque until he was 20 years old. After experiencing financial hardship, he migrated to North Carolina, where he worked until his return to Mexico in 2003. With his family's assistance, he recommenced making mezcal. Rey Campero Cuishe is distinguished by its fresh and clear fragrance, which blends delightful fruity and mineral notes, culminating in a mildly spicy finish.
