According to Ardbeg's Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden, its flavor profile can be compared to "biting on a spiky ball." This formidable and intense whisky is made using roasted black malt, resulting in a smoky charcoal flavor that's enhanced by notes of maritime seaweed, dark chocolate, and aniseed. In essence, it's a classic Ardbeg malt.
