Charles Nelson was born on July 4, 1835, in a small town in the northern German state of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. His father decided to move the family, which included five siblings, to the United States in 1850 for a chance at a better life. Tragically, John Nelson passed away during the journey across the Atlantic, leaving 15-year-old Charles as the family's breadwinner.
Belle Meade Bourbon Cask Strength Reserve is a premium, full-strength whiskey made from exceptional reserve barrels of well-aged bourbon. These barrels are blended with others in their inventory to raise the proof and enhance the flavors. Each small batch of Reserve is made up of just seven of these exceptional barrels, creating a product greater than the sum of its parts. This bold bourbon, with a high rye content, earned the "Top 20 Whiskies of 2018" accolade from Whisky Advocate. Enjoy it neat, on the rocks, with a splash of water, or in your favorite cocktail for a straight-from-the-barrel taste experience.
