Nikka's first distillery, Yoichi, was established by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934. Located in the town of Yoichi on Hokkaido Island in northern Japan, Taketsuru believed that its climate and environment were reminiscent of Scotland, making it an ideal location for his distillery. The Yoichi Single Malt, recognized as the pride of Nikka, has been awarded 93 points in the Jim Murray Whisky Bible. This 10-year-old single malt features delightful notes of vanilla and fruit, making it a perfect choice for any occasion.
